AVP1, I think Trinats means being put in the stocks or prison when he refers to justice for Quade.

Common assault or burglary charges that have both gone unpunished..

APV1:

Yes, three weeks for Cooper and a great tackle from anyone else !

APV1 says...

@ billybob - I think we're in agrement and thanks again for your answers.

@ Trinats2 - I agree that Cooper deserves proper justice. I felt it was worth at least a three week ban.

Pretty good team. was really impressed by the Sharks performance, ok admit I wanted them to beat the Reds, did they ever, but Bismarck and co. were pretty damn good as were Richie and co., Sharks v Crusaders final would be the icing on the cake.

Not sure why Ioane is in there, he only touched the ball twice. No Red player deserved to be in there, probably one of their worst performances of year (and they have had a few, losing to the Bulls and Force and throwing away a 17 point lead against the Sharks). Them's the breaks

JUSTICE 4 COOPER !!!!!

I quite agree with kpe12 there about George Whitelock. Not the fanciest of player but he does the job very well. Very very strong in defence and his stand-offs are also superb.

Bit surprised he hasnt received a recall to the ABs yet.

@ Ed

What about having posters team of the week?

I am sure it would be more interesting, Let's go social and be creative, this hopefully would get rid of of poor posters

APV1 well then why did you ask the question. It's actually not about getting your two best locks on the field it's about getting a pair which work best together. And as we now know Back, hill and dalligo formed one of the best and most balanced back row in the world

Posted 19:57 24th July 2012

APV1 says...

@ billybob - thanks for that. But, essentially, it's more important to get your two best locks on the field than to worry about the number on the back? Much like Richard Hill's article which stated that he, Backy and Dallaglio didn't necessarily perform the "traditional" 6, 7 and 8 roles - they had complimenting skills.

APV1, yes there actually is a difference, a four normally jumps at 2 in the line out, they tend to be a bit heavier and more of a bruiser. Whilst a 5 tend to be a bit taller and more of a line out expert and less of a ball carrier. There are certain difference such as which side of the scrum they pack down on, but that could be personal preference. But it most cases team either select their best two locks, or the best two who complement each other. ie Victor Matfield (5) and Bakkies Botha (4). Luke Ramano (4) Sam Whitelock (5), O Callaghan (4) O Connel (5) Leo Cullen Normally wears (5) for Leinster, Martin Johnson was a (4) I could go on for a while here

Kankowski ahead of Richie (is that blasphemy coming from a die hard Crusaders fan?).

Pietersen is working his way to player of the tournament.

Also I think there should be more credit for George Whitelock, he is having another standout season doing his job under the radar (check out how many turnovers this guy forces by holding opposition up and waiting for the cavalry).

The Chiefs and Stormers didn't play on the weekened.... but these two teams will be up against the Crusaders and Sharks this weekend. It is not surprising to see the composition of the XV that was picked this week. Of course it is the associated comments accompanying the selections that are also important.... the Sharks really did play well against the Reds. They squeezed the life out of the Reds.... 8 Sharks, 6 Crusaders and 1 Red... is probably a fair reflection of what was on display in the two quarter final matches. What was disappointing was the performance of the Bulls.

APV1 says...

I suppose, considering their mediocrity, this is as good as we can expect. The sub-par skill level of the players in these four teams in particular, was glaringly obvious.

Phew! Now that's out of the way.

On a different note, who can tell me what the difference is between 4 and 5? Is there one? When I've played it's made no difference, but the level I've played at isn't quite up there with the professionals.

Anyone?

Anyone..?

Beuller..?

Good 15, you can see why the sharks are my favourite team of the 4 involved over the last weekend, my only query is 9 where genia was still better than his opposite number for the few minutes he played there, the sharks scrum half was very loose at points in the first half.

I'd have Ludik ahead of Dagg, and Guildford in for Ioane. Apart from that, thumbs up!

Good choices overall.

While Marcel was good, Liam Gill was better.
