@Davoust - sick of Wales? Great evidence in support of your odd comment - sorry, I mean, no evidence!

Davoust / jcahill1 - don't understand your post. These are player ratings for the England SA match. If you want ratings for games other teams are involved in, why post on the England page ?

By the way, I might be English but I'm certainly not sick of Wales. They have some great players and will form the backbone of a formidable B & I Lions team soon.

saintssteve BDP's try was def a try. All you need is downward pressure between waist and neck, that control bull went out the window a long time ago. Could argue the alberts try should've been disallowed, pretty poor reffing TBH

@ editors

Do only England and SA get player ratings?

I agree with the fact that the first half South Africa although the forwards were dominant they were gifted a try and the other try was no try as the player lost control and an England hand was underneath the ball how the TMO missed it.

Am i correct in saying when a player goes for the line a metre or so from it and is yanked backwards by the neck surely that is a penalty try only after five or so minuites later after Ben youngs managed to get the ball down was the try given by the TMO ?.

Having said all that England seem to be playing too flat with slow deliberate ball that is easy to defend. Can we see a run from deep and players backing up.

Droping Ben Foden to the wing is not the answer nor droping Chris Ashton as both never had any sort of quick ball in a bit of space to play with other than the Toby Flood try. To put Alex goode on and other untried players at this stage now would be pure folly as the the coaching seems to be at fault.

England have a lot of talant back home induered Tom Croft ,Courtney Lawes etc And James Haskell should have played which all bodes well for the future

crap ratings indeed, though most should be much lower! England were battered to a pulp by the Bok forwards until the front row changes. England did pretty much nothing created. You could praise their defence, but look at the points scored. So lower scores please - except for Youngs who was excellent and Corbisero who clearly improved the scrum (and shouldn't have been penalised for dropping the scrum).

Ben youngs 9. Should take some responsibility for endlessly kicking possession back to SAf and the scrum feed that went straight through for the easiest try ever scored. As well as Hartley. 2 games this has happened. Johnson chose the wrong game to stop it with his hand. Youngs is better with Flood outside him. No way a 9 though... That was no Genia out there. No Youngs at his best.

Hartley was ok. In the thick of it. No worse than the others. Good low tackles. But we need better.

Gift try and a no try were just rewards for first half complete dominance.

Time to give Turner Hall a go at 12 with Jonathan Jo.

England just don't have a pack like they used to. Cole Marler and Robshaw can survive this tour. Maybe Johnson as an option. But a new tougher bunch is needed..

Ashton needs dropping and Strettle. Foden was fine on wing in first game. Bring in Wade and Goode at 15. Flood and Youngs can stay but please, Care must be on bench. Mears no. Gray and Mullen should have a go on bench.
