Italy and Aironi prop Matias Aguero strained his left thigh during Italy's recent training session in Aosta and will miss at least a month.
He will thus miss all the preseason matches scheduled for Aironi. The new Italian franchise will start its pre-season campaign with two matches against the ProD2 sides Mont de Marsan (August 11th) and Bordeaux Begles (August 14th) and also will face Northampton Saints at Franklin's Gardens on August 27th, a week before the start of the first Magners League campaign that will take place in Cork against Munster.
Aguero's is the latest in a string of injuries for the beleaguered new franchise team, with flanker Simone Favaro breaking his right wrist during a training session in Viadana, internationals Pablo Canavosio and Paolo Buso sidelined for a couple of weeks and flanker Josh Sole only just starting to train with the team after off-season wrist surgery.
Next Monday both prop Fabio Staibano and flanker Andrea Benatti will train for the first time this summer with the team-mates after injury hangovers from last season.
On Wednesday Aironi's squad will be complete for the first time when the eight players that took part to Italy's summer tour in South Africa will arrive in Viadana.
