Bayonne win to keep pressure on Wasps

Bayonne kept the pressure on Wasps in Amlin Challenge Cup Pool 3 in the with a 12-6 victory over French rivals Bordeaux-Begles on Thursday.

The win provisionally moves the Basque club three points clear of Wasps, who travel to Italian side Rovigo on Saturday.

Fly-half Benjamin Boyet kicked all of Bayonne's point with four penalties as they claimed their fourth victory from five games in the tournament.

The visitors held a 6-3 lead at half time as UBB replied Boyet's two early penalties with one from replacement Manu Saubusse shortly before the interval.

The second half followed the same pattern as Bayonne completed the double over their French rivals.
